Steve Martin plays the concertina in several scenes

Three strangers, living in the same New York City apartment building and sharing an obsession with true crime, suddenly find themselves involved in a murder. He is actually a very talented and gifted musician. The viewer learned in the first episode that CHS lived above Oliver, who lived above Mabel, with that elevator scene.

BUT the first episode has CHS in an apartment on the seventh floor, Oliver on the eighth, Mabel on the ninth, in reverse order and well below CHS’s actual floor in the series. When I first heard “Only Murders In The Building” I thought it was clever, funny and kept me guessing what would happen next. The second season picks up pretty well where the other one left off.
The dialogue was great
However, the third season made me feel like they were undoing what made this show unusual. We’re in Season 4 and it’s like chewing gum after half an hour of chewing. It’s bland, vapid, uninteresting and more trouble than it’s worth.
Adding all these cameos was a huge mistake
Sad, really. Martin and Short are great together and Gomez was tolerable. They didn’t need more than the cast they had in the first two seasons.
