American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Tale
Follow Morgan, a single mother of three, as she uses her exceptional mind to help solve a crime by rearranging evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police department. Despite his very high IQ, excellent memory and extensive knowledge of secret matters, Morgan makes a number of basic mistakes in the law that anyone who has ever watched a legal show on TV, he knows that he should not commit. For example, in the first episode, she takes out of a locked safe in the legal office of the suspect-victim a document that will never be admissible in court – illegally obtained evidence.
Remake of HPI (2021)
It also cannot be used to obtain other evidence — a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine. In episode 2, she needs to be reminded to wear gloves before handling crime scene evidence, and in #3 she takes all the documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making everything she removed also inadmissible in court .. At first I thought it would be a comedy in the spirit of Psych!
Or an absurd comedy like Always Sunny
I mean, the only characters I’ve ever seen Caitlin Olson play are badass women with a very sarcastic sense of humor. If you like that about her, don’t worry, she definitely brings both of those qualities to this role. But somehow she does it in a mature way.
And his twin brother, The Mentalist
Although the first episode is all I’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s a series similar to the aforementioned Psych! In it, Olson plays a character with an extremely high IQ who also suffers from a type of OCD where she obsesses over things that are out of place. She also has a very fine sense of observation, and she uses these quirks to help the local police in solving crimes.
This is not a dramatic detective show, but it is not a comedy played for laughs either
It’s a light action crime show like ABC’s Rookie, and it even reminds me of the brilliant FX series Rescue Me from the early 2000s. The first episode was enjoyable, and I hope that the show continues in the same vein, with enough black humor to make it enjoyable, without turning into a joke.
