The DC Studios logo is placed in a seedy Gotham alley
Story
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, also known as the Penguin, is putting on a show to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Colin Farrell and Kristin Milioti talk about how they got into the character during the production of “The Penguin.” Colin Farrell fought hard to get his own smoking tobacco version of The Penguin in Batman (2022), but failed. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user who prefers cigars.
So, the first episode is done, and it was great
The umbrella falls, and the logo is changed to the Warner Bros. logo. Featuring Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).
I’ve never seen Farrell so invested in a character
I mean, yeah, he wears a fat suit, but you’d never know it. His attitude, body language, and voice make you sink into the character and see only the Penguin. It has no connection to the other live-action TV Penguins, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor.
The Penguin is a mediocre mobster
This is a New York mobster, a smart guy. He’s a Scorsese mobster, but without the slang. The plot is simple, similar to Lord Taylor’s Penguin on the CW’s Gotham.
Very entertaining and highly recommended
So far, he’s been doing his time, slowly working his way up the mob, and after the Riddler blows up the city’s sea wall and his boss dies in this movie, he sees an opportunity to move up in the world. Now begins the game of cross, double cross, and I think triple cross.
