Story
Nate Busco has spent 12 of his 17 years living in his past. Exhausted from bouncing from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eats corn husks, and uses track practice as an opportunity to shower. By night, he’s no different from the confident, cocky guy he was at school. Alone, he’s haunted by traumatic memories from his past. Enter Stan Dean, a popular high school drama teacher dealing with his own problems. He sees Nate’s hidden talent and need for care and guidance that no other teacher has, and steps in to help. But in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested and handcuffed in the middle of school. Stan not only follows Nate to the police station and bails him out, but he also agrees to take Nate to his house, despite the raised eyebrows of his fellow teachers. Stan is willing to do whatever he can to help his troubled student. But the question is, can you really help someone if you’re not willing to help yourself?
