The struggle of the father and Eunice after the disappearance of her husband
The Brazilian film that has gained the most international recognition in recent years, winner of the award for best screenplay at the Venice Film Festival and nominated for an Oscar, “I’m Still Here”, dramatizes the trajectory of the Paiva family from the arrest of Rubens Paiva. Walter Salles draws the viewer into the intimacy of this family and makes him an accomplice taking care of the fate of each of them, creating three-dimensional, real, credible characters.

Detailed scenography, slim script, natural interpretations, carefully selected soundtrack, precise editing make the director able to convey exactly what he had in mind. Since I knew the story, I had read the book on which the film was based, in addition to the account of it, my attention focused on the cinematographic solutions used by the director.
He managed to transform this specific story into something universal, able to communicate with the audience anywhere in the world
