In US government agencies, including the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, the correct/official explanation for the acronym “OBE” is “Overcome By Events”.. Starring: Graham Norton and guests: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024 ). At the beginning of “The Agency” (UK release in 2024; 10 episodes lasting from 50 to 60 minutes), we meet the Martian, a CIA operative who is suddenly called back to London after 6 years in Africa. Arriving at his new apartment in London, he discovers that there are listening devices installed throughout the apartment.

Then we go to Belarus, where a man, clearly drunk, gets into his car and crashes after being chased by the Belarusian police, but survives. A couple of comments: This miniseries is based on the previously highly rated French TV series Le Bureau des Legendes. This is the last film of British Oscar-winning director Joe Wright (“The Darkest House”). There is A LOT going on as episode 1 unfolds (at least 3 parallel storylines) and it took me a while to see and understand the big picture.

By the time we got to episode 2, I was completely engrossed in it as the tension and drama is everywhere. This mini-series largely benefits from the excellent lead role of Michael Fassbender (as the Martian). By the end of episode 2, I was (and am) ready for more. The first 2 episodes started airing on SHO a few days ago.
If you’re in the mood for a top-notch CIA spy thriller or just happen to be a fan of Michael Fassbender, I’d readily suggest you watch it and draw your own conclusions
