James Gunn pitched ‘CREATURE COMMANDOS’ before taking over DC

It follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon.. Gunn then kicked the project off the ground when he became CEO of DC Studios.

This series has fantastic characters and is extremely creative
I’ve always loved the DC universe, and while I think the DCEU has been hated too much, I’ve been very disappointed by several DCEU projects. I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and television have become too generic, that’s the point.
I think James Gunn is really going to change things up and I can’t wait
They’ve had so many superhero movies in the last decade that when people see a new one coming out, they don’t go to the theaters because they’re like “another superhero movie, man, there’s been too many” because theirs is just a generic action movie anyway (especially the sequel). I also think that because Marvel has been so much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters that have been overlooked (by fans) and I think if everything works out at DC over the next few years then the lesser known characters will do well at the box office as long as they can grab people’s attention and really have a special feel to them, this was a great start and I see it only getting better from here on out.
