The Duttons faced new challenges in the early 20th century, including the rise of Westward Expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. While the American Great Depression began in 1929, it began early in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, nearly 10 years before the rest of the nation. While the rest of America prospered, Montana struggled. Between drought and reduced demand for agricultural products due to the end of the "Great War" (also known as World War I, from 1914 to 1918), many farmers suffered greatly. As a result, Montana farmers could not repay their wartime loans, leading to widespread bankruptcies across the state. Between 1921-1925, half of Montana farmers lost their land. By 1925, 70,000 of Montana’s 82,000 homesteaders had left. In addition, 200 banks in Montana failed. Not only were crops affected by the drought, but there was also a locust invasion and livestock succumbing to disease. Featured in Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford (2023). After Yellowstone this was a different yet similar feeling….. I genuinely enjoyed this and although I should see or something makes me feel like it could be better (a tougher challenge after Yellowstone!) BUT. BUT. BUT… It seems like they are finally starting to tie up the side stories… And then it’s over – this is obviously set up for season 2 – BUT – if it doesn’t happen then you’ve just wasted your time because the story isn’t even close to being over by the end of this first season. And there is currently no announcement or schedule for season 2…. This makes me so angry! It’s like going to a great restaurant and they only serve you pussy on the side with no main course!!! What the hell….Come on producers…. Pull your fingers out!!!!
