Tale
The city of New Rome faces a duel between Cesare Catiline, a brilliant artist who favors a utopian future, and Franklin Cicero, a greedy mayor. Among them is Julia Cicero, whose loyalties are divided between her father and her lover. Francis Ford Coppola wrote the screenplay in the early 1980s, but the film was shelved in part due to his financial debts. Pre-production finally began in 2001 after shooting 30 hours of second-part footage and a table read with Paul Newman, Uma Thurman, Robert De Niro, James Gandolfini, Nicolas Cage, Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Eddie Falcon and Kevin Spacey, but the project was scrapped after the 9/11 attacks because a scene from the script (page 166) "predicts" attacks.

Adam Driver and Natalie Emmanuel had no chemistry
This movie reminded me of The Room and Adam Driver’s performance was more reminiscent of Tommy Wiseau. Tired dialogue and bad writing that he couldn’t fake. Since this was filmed during the pandemic, I wonder if they even met before acting or if they just missed the zoom. I bet Adam Driver, Nathalie Emanuel, and Aubrey Plaza will get Razzie nominations and maybe even win.
It was bland, superficial and a waste of money
I’ve never seen such a “talented” group of actors so lacking in self-awareness that they embarrass themselves and make us question whether they really are talented. I walked out before the end because I couldn’t stand the bad dialogue, I felt like the actors were talking to a wall and had just learned their lines 5 minutes ago. That opening speech by Hamlet was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The footage looked like a 2003 TV movie edited on Windows 95.
It’s not even that bad, it’s good because I couldn’t follow the plot because it was all over the place
