Plot under wraps. The third film in the "28 Days Later" franchise.. The sequel was originally going to be titled "28 Months Later", continuing the motif of the film’s title set by the timeline. However, with so much time having passed since our last return to this world in 2007 (28 Weeks Later), it was deemed more appropriate to name the film "28 Years Later"… Followed by 28 Years Later, Part II: The Bone Temple
