The DC Studios logo is set in a rainy Gotham alley
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from the Bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but failed. For his own series, however, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, with a preference for cigars.
Farrell STEALS this series
An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Appeared in Graham Norton The Gossips: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). It’s awesome.
There is nothing caricatured
There is nothing about the character that hints at Farrell. The New York dialect, the sway and limp, the attitude – you would swear it was someone else. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add something to the character. The show is raw and graphic.
It’s a shame
Well written and tense. This is a great foil to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I would say this one outclasses the Marvel line. I hope there can be a second season, but I know it is limited.
